~ It Matters in the Heart~
I have had many situations that have crippled me with brokenness, I have been endearing enough to be soft, and I have been riddled with attacks leaving me ridged and hardened. Yet, through these all I have not remained, broken, soft, or hard, rather I find I have been flexible, enduring, and resilient. Is this strength? Is this elasticity? or is it more than words can express?
Better question is why are these characteristics not shared or described in matters of the heart. We do not have to be a careless soft heart, nor resolve to protect ourselves behind a hard heart, nor crumble through life with a broken heart. The ability to heal ones heart in any of these is possible, it is present, and it is for everyone, and granted more often than not the process will be uncomfortable, but isn't it worse being hardened, broken, or feebly soft.
The strength to take on the life with heart and joy, is not without pain, but it is with the ability to take heart with the pain. In doing so, the pain is a gift, it stretches us, I compels us, and I builds our hearts to reach new and more hearts in support, understanding, and ultimately love, as it is continually shown to us.
It matters in the heart.
