Brother's Lesson on Support

Something my Brother told me a long time ago, and I have since had many many experiences that have unfolded a wealth of understanding to it's truth and application:

"If you don't want to put in at least half the effort to achieve your goals, you can't expect anyone else to sacrifice more than you're willing to put in"

I was on one end of that lesson at that time, it was my goals that I wanted to achieve, but didn't know how or who could help. I had people in my corner willing to assist, but I was hoping, expecting, more from them than I was putting in.

Since then I've been on the other side more often, I been the one willing and wanting to help, many times I would find myself doing more than the ones I thought I was helping, only to find I'm reaching the goal(s) and they are still lost, not understanding or appreciating what had been done and accomplished. Almost every time the accomplishments were short lived.

Having learned myself and still learning how best to assist everyone where they are, as I do truly enjoy supporting and seeing others achieve the dreams and goals, I first had to learn to step back, to guide, and to be patient. To this day, opportunities, rather blessings, to encourage, educate, and dream with others turn up in many ways, and I love it. All the while constantly holding on to my Brother's sincere and resounding lesson message when I was in their place.
