Freedom in the Whole Truth

~Freedom in the Whole Truth ~

From early in our lives we are taught that the truth is the best policy, yet at the same time punished in the corner shadows of honesty. So, how is it that we are able to desire to tell not only the truth, but the whole truth especially when our own well-being is at stake? Are we not to preserve our life? Should we not care for the others that will face punishment for the reality of what was? Why should we tell things as they are when ultimately all involved will be hurt?

If the truth is the best policy, and the truth will set us free, why would we tell it all without leaving any out when in reality it can hurt ourselves and others?

The truth is that it's not the fact that we are hurt by the truth, but rather by the withdrawal of the lies we accept throughout our lives. One of, if not the most powerful addiction known to humanity is the addiction to a false living, with little fibs, white lies, harmless jokes, and sarcasm everyday we take our full of living amongst the lies we crave. We crave this false living because it is less hurtful, no one is hurt by a joke, or telling a fib, we're saving ourselves from being punished and no one else will know the truth of all that truly happened.

Yet, by telling these white lies, we do not learn that our actions did actually hurt someone, even if we didn't experience the pain and sadness. By fibbing we saved another from correction, but they will never know the weight of lost integrity in our own soul. In joking over the criticism from others we do not fund confidence to stand for ourselves or to discern what is the truth.

In a world of lies, the truth is like going from walking on glass after stepping off a cushion. Yet if we have only known the truth, it is as if walking on water for no matter how high the waves of lies and desceit may come against us, we will always rise above them. The truth is the reality of life, greater than any dream or fantasy is the reality of the full true experience. Yes, there will be hurt for those that do not respect the truth in it's entirety, because the truth is no one wants to hurt another, but we continue to be told the lie saying everyone is trying to hurt you. If everyone truly wanted to hurt others, why would they lie to save another, or even themselves? For the fear of hurt begins within us, but when allowed goes towards others, and that fear is the foundation of the life of lies.

True freedom is one found in the whole truth. So tell the whole truth, and nothing but the truth, so help us, God.
