What You Don't See

What You Don't See

This joy I seek, the smile you sow
In this memory I peek, into a time I know
Where your happiness was my well,
Your laughter my pail
With every day passed, I have yet to see you
Each sunrise granted, is a fire burning my eyes
Because what you don't see, is the pain within every lie

Day to day this body would grow strong,
Hour to hour this mind would find new possibilities
Minute by minute, this heart would find joy in all things
Yet now, second by second, this soul strains to be hopeful
One day comes, with a bright morning sun
Another night comes, with dying edge of its glow
All this time I can't believe,
But what you don't see, is I am still able to receive

A light, a key, a tunnel, an opportunity
This smile, this hope, this life, these hands
There was joy, there was promise,
There was strength, there is ability
Each day was, every laugh became,
Any stumble will be, all I found is
In the only way I could survive, I learned
In the only way I could die, I forgave
Still what you don't see, that I lay before your sword

My life has never been the same
My mouth will always call on your name
My ears will resound with your voice
My heart shall ever be scarred and embedded
For the love you have thrown to disgrace
Shall never be sought to be regained
Should they be known as anything more than
Cancer of pure joy, let them be burned as its kin
For what you don't see, I forgive, but I shall not wish to forget

Who you were, who you are
Who you should become,
I pray is a joy in my heart once again.
One day, I Pray, what you don't see,
You will know, I Loved You So
